Marine Hybrid is a formula based on a 60/40 phosphor blend of Arcadia Marine White 14K (60%) and Marine Blue 420nm (40%) lamps. In result the spectrum of the lamp combines high brightness with large amounts of energy in the photosynthetic wavelengths required for coral growth. Thanks to the strong actinic peak, which provides the necessary fluorescent coral lighting, the Marine Hybrid fluorescent lamp emphasizes blue-violet colors in the aquarium, without flattening red and green, enhancing the natural look of the reef. The 40% of spectrum of this fluorescent lamp is Marine Blue Actinic, which was created to provide the specific spectrum (400 – 480 nm) necessary to obtain blue absorption of chlorophyll, which supports the development of zooxanthellae symbiosis. This concentration of light energy in the so-called “actin” range reaching a peak at 420 nm is necessary for the survival and good condition of fish, corals and invertebrates in marine aquariums. Another important element of the Actinic Arcadia Marine blue lamp is the presence of UVA in the range, which creates a very pleasant fluorescent effect on corals, invertebrates and exotic marine fish.
