Universal compact bulb – UV SUN 20W
- UV lamp for birds and reptiles – the optimal light spectrum for birds and reptiles
- recommended replacement after 2,000 hours – 50% loss of UVB emission value (approx. 6 months, no later than 12)
- E27 fixture
- Recommended solution for smaller and low tanks – limited impact on terrarium temperature
- the height of the suspension determines the use (tropics or desert) – look at the diagram illustrating efficiency
- emitting a UVB 290-305 nm range that hits perfectly into the active spectrum in the synthesis of provitamin D3
Increased power of light and UV radiation. Compact UV Sun is one of the best tested lamps on the market. It contains the optimal compromise between sufficient UV radiation and visible light. Compact UV Sun is designed to create small light islands rich in UV radiation. It is recommended to use these lamps together with a good reflector. This can increase the radiation reaching animal up to 200% and directs the light where it is needed. The reflector also protects animal health. If the compact lamp is used without reflector, the animals may remain at the same height or just below the lamp, UV radiation hits the eye from an unnatural angle, which can damage the eyeysight. By the way, the Compact UV Sun is also perfect for birds!
Why does the lamp not determine the UVB content in the traditional way 5%, 10% or 12%? Lucky Reptile adheres to the principle that the total UVB content in the spectrum never determines the operation of the lamps. Much more important is the emitted UVB range. In practice, only the narrow UVB range is active in D3 synthesis chains: 290-305 nm (to remind the total UVB range 280-315 nm). Therefore, the most important is the length of UVB emitted and this in the case of the universal UV Sun lamp is perfectly aimed. Whether we use this lamp in tropics or deserts determines the height of the suspension – according to the presented schemes.
